Here’s something most travelers don’t know. The exact same hotel room, often at the exact same rate, can come with breakfast for two, $100 resort credit and upgrade priority. It all depends on who books it.

So you’ve found the hotel. Maybe your flights are already booked, or you’ve spent hours researching and know exactly where you want to stay. You might assume a travel advisor is only for people handing off an entire vacation. It isn’t. Booking your hotel through a travel advisor is one of the easiest ways to get more out of your stay, even if it’s the only thing you need help with.

And no, I’m not talking about paying more for the same room. I’m talking about real hotel perks, a second opinion from someone who knows the property and someone in your corner if something goes wrong.

Honestly, hotel-only bookings are one of my favorite ways to help travelers, because the little details really do make a difference. Here’s why I think you should consider it for your next stay.

1. You Could Get Extra Hotel Perks Without Paying More

Let’s start with the fun part.

Many luxury hotels have preferred partner programs that allow participating travel advisors to offer additional amenities when booking eligible stays. These perks can be available at a variety of four- and five-star properties.

The best part? Partner rates are often the same as the hotel’s publicly available flexible rate. You just get more for it.

So, what might those perks look like?

Complimentary breakfast for two

Imagine waking up in a beautiful hotel in Italy, heading downstairs, and enjoying breakfast with no bill at the end.

At participating properties, eligible bookings may include daily breakfast for two. Depending on the hotel, that could mean a full restaurant breakfast or another set breakfast benefit.

If you’ve ever traveled somewhere where breakfast costs $30 or more per person, you know how quickly that adds up over a few mornings.

A hotel or resort credit

Some preferred partner bookings include a property credit, often around $100, that can be used toward eligible expenses such as dining or spa treatments.

Think a lovely dinner on property, a spa treatment, or a few drinks by the pool during your stay.

The exact amount and what it covers depend on the property, but it’s a nice extra to have.

Room upgrades when available

Who doesn’t love a room upgrade?

Depending on the hotel’s program, your booking may receive upgrade priority at check-in.

An upgrade is never something I’d promise without confirmation from the hotel, because availability, room categories, and program rules all matter. But being first in line is a good place to be.

Early check-in and late checkout

Travel days rarely line up perfectly with hotel check-in and checkout times.

You might arrive early after an overnight flight or have an evening departure on your last day. Priority for early check-in or late checkout can make those travel days much easier.

These benefits are generally subject to availability, unless a specific program or property confirms them in advance.

A welcome amenity or VIP recognition

Some hotels add a welcome amenity, a personalized note, or extra recognition for guests booked through a preferred partner program. It’s a small detail, but I love when a hotel stay feels personal from the moment you walk in.

Good to know: Not every hotel offers every perk, and benefits can vary by property, rate, and program. That’s why I check exactly what’s available for your hotel and dates.

What this looks like in real like

One of my honeymoon couples checked into La Monastica in Tuscany and was upgraded to a suite. That meant double the space, a private balcony and views over the Tuscan hills. On top of the upgrade, they had breakfast every morning and a $100 hotel credit to use during their stay.

In total, they got almost $2,000 over 5 nights in added value. They paid the same rate posted online, and the only thing they did differently was book through a travel advisor.

2. You Don’t Have to Be Staying at a Five-Star Resort to Benefit

When people hear the words “travel advisor”, they often picture elaborate international itineraries and ultra-luxury vacations. But you don’t have to be booking a $2,000-per-night resort to ask for help with a hotel.

Partner perks are most common at four- and five-star properties, but I can also help you find a hotel that fits your investment, location, and travel style.

Maybe you’re planning a weekend in New York, a romantic escape to Napa Valley, or a few nights in Florence before heading to the Italian countryside.

The goal isn’t to book the most expensive hotel. It’s to book the right hotel for you. Sometimes, that means putting location, atmosphere, and amenities ahead of star rating

3. You Get Help Finding the Right Hotel, Not Just Any Hotel

Let’s be honest. Researching hotels can become a full-time job.

You have hundreds of options, countless reviews, different room categories, and photos that somehow make every property look incredible.

But which hotel is actually right for your trip?

That’s where I come in. I look beyond the pretty photos to what matters for your stay. Location, room type, atmosphere, amenities, and the overall experience all play a role in choosing the right property.

A couple celebrating their anniversary might want privacy, a beautiful setting, and an exceptional restaurant. Someone visiting Rome for the first time is usually better off with a central location that makes sightseeing easy. On a honeymoon, the hotel itself is often a huge part of the experience, not just a place to sleep between activities.

You might already know which hotel you want, and that’s absolutely fine! I’m happy to book it. But if you’re still deciding, you also have someone to help narrow down the options.

4. You Have Someone in Your Corner

Booking a hotel is one thing. Knowing who to call when something doesn’t go to plan is another.

What happens if you have a question about your reservation? Or a special request you want passed along? Or the room isn’t what you expected?

When you book through me, you have an advisor who knows your reservation and can work with the hotel on your behalf. I share your preferences and requests with the property ahead of time, clarify booking details, and step in as an additional point of contact if something comes up.

The hotel always makes the final call, so I can’t guarantee every request. But having someone familiar with your booking makes those unexpected hiccups easier to handle.

And for me, that personal connection is one of the most valuable parts of working with a travel advisor.

5. You Can Still Book Just the Hotel

This is the part I really want you to know: You don’t have to hand over your entire trip to work with me.

Already booked your flights? Great.

Have your restaurant reservations planned? Wonderful.

Know exactly what you want to do every day? I love that for you.

If all you need is a hotel, we’ll focus on the hotel.

Through my Hotel only and Hotel Collection services with Amanda Therese Travel, I can book your accommodations, find out which partner benefits are available, and take care of the reservation without requiring you to book a full custom itinerary.

It’s a great fit for travelers who love planning their own trips but would still appreciate a little expert guidance and a few extra perks.

Travel planning doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

6. It May Not Cost You Anything Extra to Work With Me

One of the most common questions I get is whether working through an advisor means paying more. For hotels, usually not.

If you already know which hotel you want and just want the extra perks, booking through me is complimentary. The hotel pays my commission, so you typically get the same publicly available rate plus added benefits.

If you’d like me to put together hotel options for a particular city (or a few cities), there’s a $100 hotel look book fee to cover the time and expertise that goes into that research.

Either way, my goal is to help you make a smart decision and get the most out of your stay, whether you’re planning a quick weekend away or a two-week European adventure.

So, Should You Book Your Next Hotel Through a Travel Advisor?

My answer? Absolutely!

If you’re already spending time researching hotels, comparing room types, why not find out what extras you could get by booking through a travel advisor?

Breakfast, a property credit, upgrade priority, or other perks that make your stay even better. Even when a particular hotel doesn’t have partner benefits, you still get help choosing the right property and someone managing your reservation.

You don’t need a complicated itinerary. You don’t need to be planning a honeymoon. And you certainly don’t need to stay at the most expensive hotel in town.

Sometimes, you just need the right hotel. I’d love to help you find it!
