From the moment my family and I stepped into Joia Rose Hall by Iberostar (previously known as Iberostar Grand Rose Hall) a luxury adults-only, all-inclusive, I knew we were in for an unforgettable trip. The warm ocean breeze, the friendliest welcome, and a stunning lobby set the stage for 5 incredible days in paradise.
A Multi-Generational Trip to Remember
In 2024, my family planned a multi-generational trip to Jamaica —ten of us ranging from me and my siblings to our great aunt and uncle. Spending those 5 days together indulging in delicious food, relaxing at the resort and sharing in belly laughs was truly special. It was one of those trips that reminded me why I love traveling so much— creating lifelong memories with the people I love.

The resort experience
Joia Rose Hall by Iberostar is a luxury, adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Jamaica located just 20 minutes from Montego Bay Airport. To make our arrival seamless, we prearranged a transfer through Amstar, which I highly recommend. The airport can be overwhelming with drivers offering rides, so having a transfer booked in advance makes for a stress free start to your vacation.
This resort is part of a larger Iberostar complex, which includes two family-friendly resorts. However, only guests staying at Joia Rose Hall have access to its exclusive adults-only amenities, ensuring a peaceful and upscale experience. Guests staying at Joia are welcome to visit the other 2 properties.
The Rooms
The rooms at this resort were next level! Upon entering, we were greeted with a long hallway featuring full built-in closets— plenty of storage to unpack and settle in! The open concept bathroom had a large walk-in shower, double sinks (perfect for getting ready without bumping elbows), a huge bathtub, and a separate toilet area.
The main space was decorated with a plush bed (or two), a cozy seating area and a table. But the real highlight? The private balcony with STUNNING views! We stayed in an ocean view room meaning our balcony faced the pool but we could see the ocean off to the side. My favorite spot quickly became the wicker hanging chair!

Housekeeping was excellent, tidying the room daily, replenishing towels and water and ensuring the room was fresh every day!
Joia Rose Hall has eight different room types from standard suites to ocean front penthouses and swim-up suites for an extra touch.
Dining: A Foodie Paradise
The food at this resort was something to write home about! With five specialty restaurants and multiple quick-service options, there was always something delicious to eat!
Breakfast & Lunch
Breakfast: Served at the buffet, offering a wide variety of options. My personal favorite was the made-to-order omelet station- soo good!
Lunch: You can choose between the buffet or the beachfront Jerk Shack. The buffet has a salad bar, a Jamaican station, international station (which rotates each day), a pasta station and more. The Jerk Shack is for people who like bold flavors! The jerk chicken from this shack was out of this world- smoky, spicy and delicious!
Dinner
Each night we dined at one of the resort’s five specialty restaurants:
Es Palau Gourmet Restaurant (French Cuisine): French food isn’t something I eat often, but I was pleasantly surprised! I started with mussels in white wine sauce followed salmon and ended with the most decadent chocolate cake. My brother even called it the “best dessert he’s ever had”!
Teppanyaki Kiniro (Japanese Hibachi): The hibachi experience was lively and fun! While the chef’s performance was slightly more low-key than what I’m used to in the U.S., the food was fantastic. The sushi and tempura appetizers were a great start, and the grilled meats, veggies, and rice were all cooked to perfection.

La Toscana Wine Cellar (Italian Cuisine): As someone from an Italian family, I’ll admit— we’re tough critics when it comes to Italian food. Unfortunately, this restaurant didn’t quite meet our expectations. A few of us got pastas that were undercooked though those who ordered steak said their meals were great. Seriously though, impressing a bunch of Italians at an Italian restaurant is not easy! If you have high Italian food standards, you might want to skip this one!
Surf and Turf Galleon (steakhouse): Hands down, the best dinner of the trip! We started with a raw seafood tower and my main course, lobster tail, was perfection! The entire group agreed this was a must-visit restaurant!

Port Maria Jamaican Restaurant: If you want an authentic Jamaican meal, this restaurant is a must try! The bread with jerk aioli was a standout, and my jerk trio (jerk chorizo, jerk chicken and jerk pork) was packed with flavor. Plus, I discovered Festival—a sweet Jamaican dumpling that I instantly fell in love with!
Drinks & bars
With 4 bars( including 1 swim up bar), there was never a shortage of great cocktails. The bartenders were so attentive and fun, always happy to whip up creative drinks and shots! Our go-to? The Jamaican Delight – a tropical drink that became our drink of the week!
Service
The service at Joia Rose Hall was exceptional! Everyone from the bartenders to the restaurant staff, butlers and front desk team went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic trip!
If you are looking for a luxury, adults-only all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, I highly recommend a stay at Joia Rose Hall by Ibersotar! Between the gorgeous setting, outstanding food, and top-notch service, it’s a perfect choice for couples, groups or anyone seeking a relaxing getaway!
